Product Overview

The QSC QIO-IR1x4 is a Q-SYS network infrared I/O expander that brings IR device control onto the Q-SYS network at the room edge. As a Q-SYS network IR expander, it lets a Core control displays, media players, and other IR devices in a conference room or boardroom over standard Ethernet, removing the need for local control wiring back to the rack. It is natively managed in Q-SYS Designer Software, making IR control a configurable part of a larger AV system integration.

Product Description

QSC QIO-IR1x4 Q-SYS network infrared I/O expander

The QIO-IR1x4 provides one IR receiver input and four IR emitter outputs, enabling Q-SYS control of a broad range of professional and consumer devices such as video displays and media players. Like the rest of the QIO platform, it connects to the Q-SYS network over standard gigabit Ethernet as a Q-LAN device and is powered by PoE (802.3af Type 1 Class 1) or 24 VDC, with daisy-chainable power and pass-through Ethernet so multiple QIO peripherals can share a switch port. The compact quarter-rack-width chassis can be surface-mounted under a table or on a wall, or rack-mounted with the optional QIO-RMK tray. Because it is natively integrated into Q-SYS Designer Software, IR command sets are configured and triggered within the same design that handles audio and control.

Key Features

  • One IR Input, Four IR Outputs — A single IR receiver input and four IR emitter outputs let one expander control multiple displays, media players, and consumer or professional devices.
  • Native Q-SYS Integration — The expander appears in Q-SYS Designer Software, so IR control is configured alongside audio and other control in one design.
  • Network-Distributed Control — IR control runs over standard gigabit Ethernet as a Q-LAN device, placing emitters near the equipment they control.
  • Flexible Power — PoE (802.3af Type 1 Class 1) or 24 VDC operation with daisy-chainable power and pass-through Ethernet.
  • Compact Mounting — A quarter-rack-width chassis supports under-table or on-wall surface mounting and an optional 19-inch rack tray.

Typical Applications

  • Conference room and boardroom display and source control
  • Training rooms and multi-purpose rooms
  • Government and commercial meeting spaces
