Product Overview
The QSC PL-CA5-BK is a two-way full-range 5-inch coaxial installation loudspeaker designed for distributed coverage in compact zones where point source imaging and a small footprint are required. With 115° conical DMT coverage and an asymmetrical enclosure profile, this passive coaxial loudspeaker delivers consistent on- and off-axis response for foreground and background audio. The black (RAL 9011) Baltic plywood enclosure carries IP54 weatherization with polyurea paint for installed indoor and covered outdoor use. It is a purpose-built solution for surface-mount distributed audio in fixed-install systems.
Product Description
The PL-CA5 combines a 5-inch LF transducer with a coaxial 1-inch voice coil tweeter to deliver a system bandwidth of 102 Hz to 20 kHz (−3 dB) with point source coherence. The 115° conical DMT coverage provides wide, symmetrical dispersion suited to overhead and wall-mounted distribution. System sensitivity is 88 dB (1 W/1 m), with continuous SPL of 107 dB and peak SPL of 119 dB. Power handling is 90 W continuous and 180 W program at 16 Ω, with the higher nominal impedance supporting parallel multi-speaker runs on a single amplifier channel. The cabinet connects via a single locking 4-pole 14 AWG Euroblock in an IP65-sealed input cup. Rigging uses rear, top/bottom, and side M8 points for the PL-CA5-YM yoke mount, and is compatible with the PL-DC24-FM flush mount. The 12 mm Baltic exterior plywood construction, polyurea paint, and IP65 input cup support installed environments. At 8.8 lbs, it installs cleanly in tight or distributed-coverage locations.
