Product Overview
The QSC MPA-Q 4x500 is a four-channel, 500 W per channel Q-SYS network amplifier built for performance and distributed audio applications that demand higher power output within the Q-SYS ecosystem. Part of the MPA-Q Series — QSC's mid-power tier in the Q-SYS network amplifier portfolio — the MPA-Q 4x500 is the highest-power-per-channel model in the series, making it ideal for larger loudspeaker arrays, live sound reinforcement zones, and applications where fewer channels with greater headroom are preferred. Creation Networks is an authorized QSC dealer supplying and integrating the MPA-Q Series for commercial AV projects nationwide.
Product Description
The MPA-Q 4x500 delivers 500 W per channel across four independently configurable output channels with Lo-Z, Hi-Z, 70 V, and 100 V direct drive available on every channel — no bridging or manual switches required. Four analog line-level inputs are fully routable into Q-SYS or can drive outputs directly. Two gigabit Ethernet ports provide redundant Q-LAN networked audio, and LAN A optionally accepts PoE (802.3af Type 1) to enable rapid audio restore after a power interruption. Standalone Mode automatically switches to available analog inputs if network connectivity drops. When bridged (A+B or C+D), the 4x500 delivers up to 1000 W maximum into a single load, making it suitable for high-power subwoofer or main array applications within a Q-SYS-controlled system. The quiet fan-cooled 2RU chassis is designed for co-location with loudspeakers.
Key Features

Typical Applications
- Large hotel ballrooms and event spaces requiring high-power zone amplification
- Entertainment venues with main arrays and fill speaker systems needing Q-SYS integration
- Houses of worship main sanctuary systems where high output and Q-SYS control are both required
- Large-format retail environments with extended ambient audio requiring higher SPL levels
- Bridged subwoofer or main array applications within a Q-SYS multi-amplifier system
- Corporate auditoriums and large conference centers with performance audio requirements
- Outdoor entertainment zones and covered event spaces requiring weather-resilient zone amplification

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the maximum output power of the MPA-Q 4x500?
- When all four channels are driven simultaneously, each channel delivers up to 500 W maximum (300 W continuous) into 8Ω, 70 V, or 100 V loads. When two channels are bridged (A+B or C+D), the bridged pair delivers up to 1000 W maximum (600 W continuous) into 8Ω. Note: 2Ω bridged operation is not supported.
- How does this compare to the MPA-Q 4x250?
- The MPA-Q 4x500 doubles the per-channel output power of the MPA-Q 4x250 (500 W vs. 250 W per channel), using the same 2RU chassis and feature set. Choose the 4x500 when loudspeaker systems require more headroom or when bridged operation is needed for high-power applications.
- Can the MPA-Q 4x500 operate without a Q-SYS Core?
- Yes. The rear-panel Mode switch set to Analog Mode bypasses Q-SYS entirely. Analog inputs route directly to corresponding outputs, and basic channel parameters are configurable from the front-panel display.
- Does the MPA-Q 4x500 support 70 V and 100 V distributed audio?
- Yes. All four channels support Lo-Z (2, 4, 8Ω), 70 V, 100 V, and Hi-Z operation, all configurable in Q-SYS Designer Software without hardware changes.
