Constant-voltage (70V/100V) distribution is the standard for paging and background-music systems that span many loudspeakers across a large building. The IT-42 converts the low-impedance output of the CX302 into selectable 25/70/100-volt distributed lines, or a higher 140/200-volt line when the amplifier is bridged, without consuming extra rack units.
