Product Overview
The QSC AD-P.SUB is a 6.5-inch passive pendant subwoofer in the AcousticDesign Series SUB/SAT loudspeaker line, engineered to add low-frequency depth and clarity to background music systems even at lower volume settings. Designed for open-ceiling commercial spaces, it hangs alongside AcousticDesign pendant satellites to deliver full-range coverage where there is no ceiling to mount into. The AD-P.SUB supports 70V/100V distributed audio with a 4 ohm bypass and includes built-in high-pass filtered outputs to feed up to four satellite loudspeakers. Available in black (RAL 9011).
Product Description

The AcousticDesign Series is built to maintain a consistent tonal character across ceiling, surface, and pendant enclosures, and its SUB/SAT models are mix-and-match capable: any AcousticDesign satellite can be paired with any subwoofer in the line. The AD-P.SUB uses a 6.5-inch (165 mm) weather-treated paper-cone woofer on a dual voice coil for improved thermal dissipation and higher output in a small pendant form factor. A low-loss, low-saturation 100 W transformer with a rotary tap selector, including a 4 ohm bypass, maintains accurate response in 70V/100V applications. Four built-in high-pass filtered outputs connect up to four AcousticDesign satellites, reducing amplifier channel count and simplifying system wiring. All connections use locking 4-pole Euroblock connectors behind a removable conduit cover, and two 10.5 ft cable assemblies with Gripple fasteners speed installation and height adjustment. Intrinsic Correction voicings are available via MP-M Series mixers and the Q-SYS Platform, including CXD-Q Series amplifiers.
Key Features
- Dual voice coil 6.5-inch woofer — Improves thermal dissipation and output in a compact pendant enclosure.
- 70V/100V with 4 ohm bypass — A 100 W transformer with rotary tap selector supports distributed audio or low-impedance operation.
- Four high-pass filtered satellite outputs — Feeds up to four AcousticDesign satellites, reducing amplifier channels and wiring.
- Mix-and-match SUB/SAT design — Pairs with any AcousticDesign satellite for blended, tonally consistent installations.
- Locking 4-pole Euroblock connectors — Accept installation-grade wire behind a removable, sealable conduit cover.
- Tool-free Gripple suspension — Two 10.5 ft cables, one main and one safety, allow easy height adjustment during install.
- Intrinsic Correction voicings — Available through MP-M Series mixers and the Q-SYS Platform, including CXD-Q amplifiers.
- UL1480 certified — Listed for commercial distributed audio installation.
Typical Applications
- House of worship — Low-frequency reinforcement for open-ceiling pendant systems.
- Commercial meeting space — Adds depth to background music in exposed-ceiling areas.
- Multi-purpose room — Full-range pendant coverage where ceiling mounting is impractical.

Frequently Asked Questions
What satellites does the AD-P.SUB work with?
It is mix-and-match compatible with any AcousticDesign Series satellite, including the AD-P6T and AD-P4T pendant loudspeakers, and its four high-pass filtered outputs can feed up to four satellites.
Does it support 70V/100V distributed audio?
Yes. A 100 W transformer with a rotary tap selector supports 70V and 100V systems, with a 4 ohm bypass for low-impedance operation.
How does it simplify installation?
Its built-in high-pass filtered satellite outputs reduce the number of amplifier channels and home-run cable required, and Gripple cable assemblies speed the pendant suspension and height adjustment.
Can it be tuned within a QSC system?
Intrinsic Correction voicings are available through MP-M Series mixers and the Q-SYS Platform, including CXD-Q Series amplifiers.
