The RMX5050a handles output impedances from 2 to 8 ohms across a 20 Hz to 20 kHz bandwidth, with high-current toroidal transformers providing strong power and low noise into 2-ohm loads. Independent user-defeatable clip limiters reduce distortion, and a selectable 30 Hz or 50 Hz low-frequency filter protects loudspeakers from over-excursion while increasing headroom. Each channel includes DC and thermal overload protection, and front-panel gain controls with signal and clip LEDs aid setup.
