Product Overview
The PTZOptics Studio SE 12X Camera is an entry-level studio box camera delivering 1080p at 60fps with 12x optical zoom and a 72.5° wide field of view, designed for conference rooms, training rooms, houses of worship, and fixed broadcast positions where USB, HDMI, SDI, and IP output are all needed from a single compact unit. It features native NDI|HX3, PoE (802.3af) power, and Hive-Linked connectivity for cloud-based camera management, and is backed by a 5-year limited warranty. The Studio SE is the entry point to the PTZOptics Studio Series, sharing the same physical chassis as the Studio 4K at a lower price point.
Product Description
The PTZOptics Studio SE 12X is a fixed box camera designed for organizations that need professional multi-output video in a compact, easy-to-mount form factor without 4K requirements. The 1/2.8" CMOS sensor delivers 1920x1080p at up to 60fps over HDMI and 3G-SDI, providing clear 1080p output for switchers, displays, and recording systems. The 12x optical zoom (f = 4.1mm to 49.2mm, F1.8 to F2.68) produces a 72.5° horizontal field of view at wide angle, suitable for conference table coverage, stage and podium framing, and classroom capture from standard mounting distances. A USB 3.0 Type-C output operates as a UVC source (UVC 1.1) compatible with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, and other conferencing platforms at 1080p 30fps. NDI|HX3 is native over the RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port, and the camera supports RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, ONVIF, and Multicast for integration with IP AV systems. The camera stores 255 presets at 0.1° accuracy for consistent framing recall. PoE (802.3af) powers the unit over a single Ethernet cable, simplifying installation at ceiling and wall-mount positions without separate power runs. Hive-Linked functionality connects the camera to PTZOptics Hive Studio automatically when plugged into a network, enabling cloud-based remote control and configuration from any browser without additional hardware. A built-in microphone and 3.5mm audio I/O provide local audio integration. The Studio SE includes a built-in tally light for on-air status indication. Covered by a 5-year limited parts and labor warranty and NDAA 2019 Section 889 compliant, the Studio SE is qualified for government and education installations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between the Studio SE and the Studio 4K?
A: The Studio SE outputs 1080p at up to 60fps and is powered by standard PoE (802.3af). The Studio 4K outputs 4K at up to 60fps over HDMI 2.0 and requires PoE+ (802.3at). Both cameras share the same physical chassis, lens options (12x or 20x), and output ports. The Studio SE is the more cost-effective choice for 1080p workflows; the Studio 4K is required when 4K output is the priority.
Q: Does the Studio SE work as a USB camera for Microsoft Teams or Zoom?
A: Yes. The USB 3.0 Type-C output is UVC 1.1 compliant and recognized as a plug-and-play webcam source in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, and any software that accepts standard USB video input. Output over USB is 1080p at up to 30fps.
Q: Does the Studio SE require a Hive subscription?
A: No. The camera operates fully as a standalone unit using its HDMI, SDI, USB, and IP outputs without any subscription. Hive-Linked connectivity provides optional cloud-based control and management through a PTZOptics Hive Studio account.
Q: What is the tally light used for?
A: The built-in tally light provides a visual on-air status indicator, showing camera operators and on-screen talent whether the camera is currently live. It is controllable through compatible production switchers and PTZOptics control software.
Q: Can the Studio SE output to NDI and HDMI simultaneously?
A: Yes. The camera can output simultaneously to HDMI, SDI, USB, and IP (NDI|HX3/RTSP/RTMP) from a single unit. All output paths operate concurrently.
Q: What control interfaces does the Studio SE support?
A: The Studio SE is controlled via VISCA over IP, ONVIF, IR remote (included), and the PTZOptics web UI. It integrates with PTZOptics Camera Management Platform (CMP) and PTZOptics Hive Studio for cloud-based management.
Q: Is this camera suitable for government facilities?
A: Yes. The Studio SE is NDAA 2019 Section 889 compliant and does not contain components from any restricted manufacturers, qualifying it for federal, state, and local government installations.
