Product Overview

The PTZOptics Move SE 20x PTZ camera is a 1080p NDI|HX2-certified PTZ camera with 20x optical zoom and built-in auto-tracking up to 100 feet, suited for corporate conference rooms, houses of worship, training rooms, and government spaces. It outputs simultaneously over 3G-SDI, HDMI, USB 3.0, and IP including NDI|HX2 and SRT, with full VISCA, PELCO-D, and PELCO-P control protocol support and PoE power for simplified installation. The Move SE 20x is PTZOptics' most versatile mid-range NDI camera for medium-distance productions at a $1,349 price point.

Product Description

The PTZOptics Move SE 20x (PT20X-SE-GY-G3) uses a Sony CMOS 1/2.8-inch sensor to deliver 1080p@60fps across simultaneous outputs — 3G-SDI via BNC, HDMI 1.3, USB 3.0 Type-C, and IP streaming via NDI|HX2, RTSP, RTMP, and SRT. With a 20x optical zoom lens (f = 4.42mm ~ 88.5mm) and a 60.7-degree wide horizontal field of view, it handles medium-to-large rooms effectively, covering both tight presenter shots and wide-room establishing angles without repositioning the camera. NDI|HX2 certification makes the camera immediately discoverable in NDI-enabled production environments, enabling integration with vMix, OBS, Wirecast, NewTek Tricaster, and other NDI-compatible platforms without additional configuration or encoding. Control protocol support includes VISCA over IP, VISCA RS-232, PELCO-D, PELCO-P via RS-485 (up to 3,937 feet cable run), and front and rear IR remote receivers — providing compatibility with virtually any commercial AV control system. Built-in Presenter-Lock auto-tracking identifies and follows a specific individual up to 100 feet, distinguishing the target from other people in frame and maintaining framing through movement. PoE (802.3af) power simplifies installation with a single Ethernet cable to the camera mount. With 255 preset positions at 0.1-degree accuracy, the camera supports repeatable multi-angle shot recall in live event and production environments. The Kensington lock slot provides physical security for shared or public-access deployments. NDAA 2019 Section 889 compliance and a 5-year limited parts and labor warranty qualify the Move SE 20x for government, education, and corporate procurement. Gen 3 firmware receives ongoing free updates, extending the camera's feature set throughout its operational lifespan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the Move SE 20x a good choice for a corporate conference room?

A: Yes. The 20x zoom covers the typical 20- to 60-foot camera-to-subject distances found in medium and large conference rooms. NDI|HX2 output integrates with most modern AV-over-IP infrastructure, and USB 3.0 Type-C provides a plug-and-play connection for Zoom or Teams-based conferencing systems.

Q: How does NDI|HX2 differ from standard NDI?

A: NDI|HX2 is a compressed NDI variant optimized for bandwidth efficiency over standard network infrastructure. It requires less bandwidth than full NDI while maintaining low latency and high image quality, making it practical for deployments on 100Mbps Ethernet networks alongside other traffic.

Q: Can I use PELCO-D or PELCO-P control with the Move SE 20x?

A: Yes. The camera supports PELCO-D and PELCO-P protocols over RS-485 via the two-pin Phoenix port, with a maximum cable run of 3,937 feet (1,200 meters). This makes it compatible with legacy PELCO-based control systems commonly found in government facilities and older AV installations.

Q: Does the Move SE 20x support direct streaming to YouTube or Facebook?

A: Yes. The camera can stream directly to YouTube, Facebook Live, and other RTMP-compatible CDN platforms using the built-in IP streaming engine. No external encoder is required for direct-to-platform streaming workflows.

Q: What is the difference between the Move SE 20x and Move SE 12x?

A: Both cameras share the same image sensor, resolution, outputs, and control protocols. The 20x provides more zoom reach for larger spaces and tighter presenter framing at distance. The 12x has a slightly wider field of view at maximum wide angle, making it slightly better for compact rooms where the camera is close to the subject.

Q: Does the Move SE Gen 3 receive ongoing firmware updates?

A: Yes. PTZOptics provides ongoing free firmware updates to the Move SE Gen 3 platform via the one-click firmware update system. Updates have historically added features such as enhanced auto-tracking, new streaming protocols, and improved web UI functionality.

Q: What is the cable run limit for RS-485 control?

A: The RS-485 port supports cable runs up to 3,937 feet (1,200 meters), making it practical for large facilities where the control system is located far from the camera. RS-232 serial control is limited to 98.5 feet (30 meters).
