Product Overview

The PTZOptics Link 4K 30x PTZ camera is a Dante AV-H-enabled, IP-centric 4K camera built for professional AV integrators, broadcast studios, and large-venue production workflows. Delivering 4K resolution at up to 60fps with 30x optical zoom and built-in auto-tracking up to 300 feet, this camera is purpose-designed for software-based production environments running vMix, OBS, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams. The Link 4K 30x outputs simultaneously over NDI, HDMI 2.0, 3G-SDI, USB, and IP streaming protocols, making it one of the most versatile PTZ cameras available at this price point.

Product Description

The PTZOptics Link 4K 30x (PT30X-LINK-4K-GY) is PTZOptics' flagship IP-centric PTZ camera, combining a 1/1.8-inch Sony CMOS sensor with 8.42 effective megapixels and 30x optical zoom for demanding large-venue and broadcast applications. The camera outputs 4K@60fps over HDMI 2.0 and simultaneously delivers 3G-SDI, USB 2.0, and IP streaming via RTSP, RTMP, and SRT — giving operators flexible signal routing without additional encoding hardware. Dante AV-H integration allows the Link 4K to slot directly into any Dante-networked facility, synchronizing audio and video over a single network with minimal configuration. VISCA over IP control, combined with compatibility with OBS, vMix, Wirecast, Tricaster, and the Elgato StreamDeck, provides extensive software integration options. The built-in Presenter-Lock auto-tracking system can follow a specific individual up to 300 feet away, even in multi-person scenes, reducing operator workload significantly. PoE+ (802.3at) power eliminates the need for a separate power supply in most installations, simplifying cable runs to a single CAT cable. The camera supports 255 preset positions with 0.1-degree accuracy, ±170-degree pan range, and automatic video inversion for ceiling or inverted-mount installations. PTZOptics Hive cloud connectivity (currently in beta) enables remote camera control from any location without additional hardware. A 5-year limited parts and labor warranty and NDAA 2019 Section 889 compliance make the Link 4K 30x appropriate for government, education, and corporate procurement programs.

Key Features

  • 30x Optical Zoom with 4K@60fps — 1/1.8-inch Sony CMOS sensor delivers 8.42MP effective resolution at up to 60 frames per second over HDMI 2.0.
  • Dante AV-H Integration — Native Dante AV-H output enables audio and video routing across a single network with automatic clock synchronization in existing Dante environments.
  • Multi-Output: NDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, USB, IP — Simultaneous outputs support SDI infrastructure, IP workflows, and USB capture without signal splitters.
  • Built-In Auto-Tracking up to 300 Feet — Presenter-Lock technology locks onto a specific individual and follows them across large stages or venues without operator intervention.
  • PoE+ Power (802.3at) — Single-cable installation over CAT5e/6 eliminates separate power wiring for wall or ceiling mounts.
  • 255 Preset Positions at 0.1° Accuracy — Repeatable precision positioning for multi-camera productions and fixed-angle recall.
  • IP Streaming: RTSP, RTMP, SRT — Direct-to-CDN streaming and low-latency SRT transport for remote production workflows.
  • VISCA over IP Control — Compatible with all major production software platforms including OBS, vMix, Wirecast, Tricaster, and Livestream Studio.
  • 3.5mm Audio In/Out — Accepts analog audio input and routes two channels of Dante audio over the network for integrated AV signal management.
  • 5-Year Limited Warranty — Parts and labor coverage protects the investment for the full operating lifecycle of a typical AV installation.
  • NDAA 2019 Section 889 Compliant — Qualified for government and federally funded education procurement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between the Link 4K and the Move 4K?

A: The Link 4K is optimized for IP-centric and Dante AV-H workflows. It is designed to integrate into Dante-networked facilities and software-based production environments. The Move 4K is PTZOptics' professional-tier camera with a broader set of control protocol options and is better suited to traditional AV infrastructure. Both cameras output 4K@60fps and share similar auto-tracking capabilities.

Q: Does the Link 4K 30x support NDI?

A: The Link 4K outputs video over IP using RTSP, RTMP, SRT, and Dante AV-H. It does not output NDI natively in the same manner as the Move SE or Move 4K. For NDI workflows, the Move SE or Move 4K series is recommended.

Q: What control software is compatible with the Link 4K 30x?

A: The Link 4K 30x is compatible with OBS (via the PTZOptics plugin), vMix, Wirecast, Tricaster, Livestream Studio, mimoLive, and the Elgato StreamDeck plugin. IP control uses the VISCA over IP protocol. Hardware joystick control is available via the PTZOptics SuperJoy or IP joystick.

Q: How does PoE+ work with this camera?

A: The Link 4K 30x supports PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), drawing up to 18W from a compliant network switch or PoE+ injector. This allows a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable to carry both data and power to the camera, eliminating a separate power run to the mounting location.

Q: What is the maximum auto-tracking range for the 30x model?

A: The Link 4K 30x can track subjects up to 300 feet away using the built-in Presenter-Lock auto-tracking system. The 12x model tracks up to 200 feet and the 20x model up to 250 feet.

Q: Is the Link 4K 30x NDAA compliant?

A: Yes. The PTZOptics Link 4K is compliant with NDAA 2019, Section 889, meaning it does not contain components from the prohibited manufacturers listed in that legislation. It is eligible for government and federally funded education procurement.

Q: What mounting orientations are supported?

A: The Link 4K 30x supports wall mount, ceiling mount, pole mount, and inverted (upside-down) mounting. The automatic video inversion feature detects the camera's orientation and corrects the image automatically, reducing installation configuration time.

Q: What audio connectivity does the Link 4K provide?

A: The camera includes a 3.5mm line-level audio input and output. Through Dante AV-H, it can transmit two channels of audio (left and right) over the network, and it can receive audio from other Dante sources and output that audio via the 3.5mm output.
