Product Overview
The Poly CCX 400 Open SIP phone is the standards-based build of the CCX 400 business media phone, shipping with Open SIP firmware so it registers directly against a third-party IP PBX, session border controller or hosted UCaaS platform. A 5-inch 720 x 1280 color touchscreen and Android 9 give users a modern desk interface without tying the endpoint to a single vendor's cloud. This is the PoE-only configuration and it ships without a power adapter, so each position is powered from the access switch over the same CAT-5E run that carries data. It suits service providers, integrators and IT teams standardizing desk phones across a mixed or non-Microsoft telephony estate.
Product Description

HP part number 849A1AA#AC3 — formerly Poly 2200-49700-025 — is what distinguishes this listing from the Microsoft Teams builds of the same hardware. Firmware, not chassis, is the difference: the Open SIP image implements IETF SIP per RFC 3261 and companion RFCs with SDP, DNS-SRV and provisioning and call server redundancy, so the phone registers wherever the dial plan lives rather than into a Microsoft 365 tenant. Configuration is delivered from an FTP, TFTP, HTTP or HTTPS provisioning server, which is how most hosted voice providers and on-premises PBX deployments push per-device config files at scale.

Codec coverage spans G.711 A-law and μ-law, G.729AB, G.722 HD Voice, G.722.1, iLBC and Opus, which is enough breadth to interoperate with both legacy trunks and modern wideband SIP providers. Poly HD Voice with Acoustic Clarity and Acoustic Fence keeps the transmitted signal clean in open-plan offices, and the full-duplex speakerphone handles acoustic echo cancellation without an outboard DSP. On the network side, a two-port gigabit Ethernet switch passes 10/100/1000Base-TX through to a desktop PC, VLAN discovery works through CDP, DHCP and LLDP-MED, and 802.1X with EAPOL, SRTP and TLS cover authentication and media security. Since this SKU has no adapter in the carton, order the Poly 5V/3A power supply for the CCX 400 for any position without a live 802.3af port, add the Poly CCX 400 wall mount bracket for corridor and reception installs, and keep a spare CCX 400 handset and cord on hand for shared positions.
Key Features
- Open SIP Firmware — Registers against a third-party IP PBX, SBC or hosted UCaaS platform using IETF SIP per RFC 3261, with no dependency on a Microsoft 365 tenant.
- Broad Codec Support — G.711, G.729AB, G.722 HD Voice, G.722.1, iLBC and Opus interoperate with both legacy trunks and wideband SIP providers.
- 5-Inch Color Touchscreen — A 720 x 1280 multi-touch capacitive display puts contacts, calls and voicemail one tap away at the desk.
- Provisioning Server Deployment — FTP, TFTP, HTTP and HTTPS central provisioning with call server redundancy supports the per-device config model hosted voice providers rely on.
- PoE-Only Power — Auto-sensing IEEE 802.3af Class 3 at 13 W maximum means one cable per position and no local outlet; no adapter is included with this SKU.
- Two-Port Gigabit Switch — Passes 10/100/1000Base-TX through to a desktop PC so an existing single drop per workstation is preserved.
- Poly HD Voice with Acoustic Fence — Wideband audio across handset, speakerphone and headset with background noise suppressed at the source.
- Enterprise Security Stack — 802.1X with EAPOL, SRTP media encryption, TLS, encrypted configuration files and signed software executables.
- Flexible Headset Connectivity — RJ-9, USB Type-A and electronic hookswitch options let a site keep its existing headset standard.
