The Planar® Chameleon™ 1.5 is an ultra-slim, double-sided LED display built for architectural and digital signage installations that need to face two directions at once. At a 1.56mm pixel pitch on a 500 × 500mm cabinet, it holds close-viewing clarity while staying under 2 inches (45mm) deep. The standard build (part 998-5088-00) covers typical indoor brightness, and an optional High Bright build (998-5093-00) pushes to 3,000 nits for higher ambient light spaces.
Product Description
Each side of the Chameleon 1.5 cabinet runs its own ColorLight-driven signal path, so the two faces can show synchronized content, independent content, or a mix of both — a single display becomes two separate audience experiences without doubling the footprint. The 500 × 500mm cabinet ships with an optional rounded-corner trim alongside the standard 90° corner, giving designers a way to match or contrast surrounding architecture. At 8kg (17.64lbs) per cabinet, the Chameleon 1.5 is light enough for two-person handling on site, and front access to every module means service technicians never need to work from behind the display once it's hung or stacked. Both the standard (998-5088-00) and High Bright (998-5093-00) builds share the same 500 × 500 × 45mm footprint and 2×2 module configuration, so a project can mix brightness tiers within one array without changing cabinet spacing. Power draw tops out at 280W per cabinet on 100-240V AC input, and Planar rates the LED refresh at 3,840Hz standard and 7,680Hz on High Bright cabinets, which keeps the panel clean on camera for broadcast and video-capture use.
