Product Overview
The Philips 86BDL3552T is an 86-inch 4K UHD multi-touch interactive display built for classroom, training room, and meeting space installation where many hands work on one screen. A T-Line series model, it uses advanced infrared touch with 20 simultaneous touch points behind anti-glare tempered safety glass, withstanding heavy daily use in education and public-facing commercial environments. An integrated Android platform runs whiteboard, scheduling, and collaboration apps without an external player. With an OPS slot for full Windows compute, it adapts to whatever room standard your organization deploys.
Product Description
The 85.6-inch IPS panel delivers native 3840 x 2160 resolution, 420 cd/m² brightness, a 1200:1 typical contrast ratio, 1.07 billion colors, and 178-degree viewing angles, so handwriting and fine detail stay legible across wide rooms. The HID-compliant infrared touch system is true plug-and-play: connect a laptop over USB and Windows, macOS, or Chrome OS recognizes the 20-point touch surface without driver installation, which keeps AV integration and day-to-day support simple.

The integrated Android OS (MTK5680 CPU, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, built-in Wi-Fi) hosts native apps directly on the display, with a built-in scheduler for dayparting content. Whiteboard mode turns the screen into a multi-user canvas whose contents can be captured and shared, and wireless screen sharing shows up to four device feeds at once over the existing Wi-Fi network or optional casting dongles. Connectivity is extensive: four HDMI 2.0 inputs, DisplayPort 1.2, DVI-I, USB-C, dual USB 2.0 and dual USB 3.0 ports, plus HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI-D outputs for overflow displays. RS232C in/out, RJ45 LAN, and IR loop-through tie into Crestron, Extron, and similar control processors, and CMND & Control manages display fleets over the network. The OPS slot accepts a full slot-in PC or Android CRD50 module, and dual 20W speakers cover instruction audio in mid-size rooms. Rated 18/7 in landscape and 12/7 in portrait, it matches institutional duty cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between this IR touch model and a capacitive touch display?
The 86BDL3552T uses advanced infrared touch with 20 points behind tempered glass, a durable, cost-effective choice for classrooms; the Philips C-Line offers capacitive touch with a flush glass appearance for executive spaces.
Does touch work with my laptop without drivers?
Yes. The touch panel is HID compliant, so Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS devices recognize it as a plug-and-play touch input over USB.
Can it run room software without an external PC?
The Android platform runs whiteboard and app-based content natively; for Windows-based room systems, add a slot-in OPS PC.
Is it rated for 24/7 signage duty?
No. It is rated 18/7 in landscape and 12/7 in portrait, which suits classroom and meeting room schedules. For continuous signage, choose a 24/7-rated D-Line model.
How does it integrate with AV control systems?
RS232C in/out, RJ45 LAN, and IR loop-through support Crestron, Extron, and similar processors, with CMND & Control for fleet management.
