The WSP425 is a steel wall plate from Peerless-AV designed to span two metal studs at 16-inch centers, providing solid mounting support for TV wall mounts on metal stud, wood stud, and concrete block walls.
Product Description
Metal stud walls present a unique challenge for display mounting because the framing members are thinner and less rigid than wood studs, and standard wall mount plates may not align with both studs at once given standard 16-inch stud spacing. The WSP425 addresses this by spanning the full 16-inch center-to-center distance between metal studs, distributing the load across both framing members rather than relying on a single attachment point.
The plate is rated for use on 25-gauge or heavier metal studs, which covers the standard framing found in commercial drywall construction. In addition to metal stud walls, the WSP425 can also be used on wood studs, and its backup plate design makes it suitable for concrete block (cinder block) installations where it can be bolted through the wall for added structural support. Electrical knockouts are included to allow a conduit or wiring pass-through, which is useful in situations where cable routing behind the display needs to reach an in-wall electrical box.
Measuring 12.2 x 17.7 x 1.3 inches and weighing approximately 9.90 lb, the WSP425 is compatible with most Peerless-AV single wall arms. It is manufactured in the United States and carries a 5-year limited warranty.
