Product Overview

The Panasonic PT-RCQ80LWU is an 8,000-lumen WUXGA 1-chip DLP laser projector for large venue and rental/staging installations. This 8,000-lumen WUXGA DLP laser projector accepts 4K signal input, shifts on-screen detail up to WQXGA (2,715 x 1,697), and ships without a lens so integrators can match the throw to the venue. A SLOT NX expansion bay and HDBaseT, 3G-/HD-SDI, DVI-D, and HDMI inputs make it a flexible engine for auditoriums, broadcast studios, and houses of worship. Note: this model is discontinued; remaining stock and lens compatibility should be confirmed before ordering.

Product Description

The PT-RCQ80LWU uses a single-chip 0.67-inch DLP imager with Smooth Pixel Drive, so there is no panel convergence to maintain and detail resolves up to WQXGA via pixel shift. Panasonic's Rich Color Harmonizer tunes color reproduction for large-screen viewing, and the SONIC SHINE laser cooling system supports up to 20,000 hours of largely maintenance-free operation. An open lens mount supports a range of Panasonic 1-chip DLP lenses for throw ratios from short to long, and the SLOT NX interface bay accepts optional input and networking boards for evolving signal infrastructure. With 360-degree rotation-capable mounting and HDBaseT/Ethernet/RS-232 control, it drops into rack-mounted, ceiling, and rigged configurations. For brighter or 4K-native fixed installs, compare the Panasonic PT-FRQ60WU7 and the Panasonic PT-FRZ60WU7.

Key Features

  • 8,000-Lumen 1-Chip DLP Laser — Bright WUXGA image with no panel convergence to maintain over the install life.

  • SLOT NX Expansion — One interface bay accepts optional input/networking boards to adapt to changing signal infrastructure.
  • Broadcast-Grade Inputs — HDBaseT, 3G-/HD-SDI, DVI-D, and HDMI cover professional source devices in studios and large venues.
  • Interchangeable Lens Mount — Ships without a lens; supports a range of Panasonic 1-chip DLP lenses for venue-specific throw.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the PT-RCQ80LWU include a lens?

No. It ships without a lens and supports a range of Panasonic 1-chip DLP lenses so integrators can select the throw ratio for the venue. Because the model is discontinued, confirm current lens availability before ordering.

What 4K and broadcast signals does it accept?

It accepts 4K UHD signals up to 3,840 x 2,160 at 60 Hz and resolves on-screen detail up to WQXGA via pixel shift. Professional inputs include HDBaseT, 3G-/HD-SDI, DVI-D, and HDMI, suiting broadcast and staging workflows.

How does single-chip DLP compare to 3LCD here?

The 1-chip DLP imager has no panel convergence to align or maintain, which can simplify long-term upkeep in rigged and rental use; 3LCD competitors deliver equal white and color brightness but use three panels. Choose based on maintenance model and color preference.

Is it still available to buy?

This model is discontinued. Creation Networks can confirm any remaining stock, compatible lenses, and current alternatives before you commit to a design.

What control systems does it support?

It is controllable over HDBaseT, Ethernet, and RS-232 and is compatible with major control systems. Verify specific Crestron/AMX/Extron driver availability for your environment.
