Product Overview

The Panasonic AV-UHS500 is a compact 4K live production switcher built for event staging, corporate productions, broadcast studios, OB vans and higher-education lecture capture. It supports 12G-SDI as standard along with HDMI input, so a single coaxial run carries 4K video without external converters. With multi-format 4K/3G/HD handling and built-in conversion, the AV-UHS500 is a practical 4K video switcher for technical directors who need broadcast-grade switching in a rack-mountable chassis.

Product Description

The AV-UHS500 maintains the same input and output count in 4K as in HD, and five optional interface boards let integrators scale connectivity for camera-heavy events. The unit carries five keyers, including two channels of chroma key and two channels of picture-in-picture, plus built-in up/down conversion, HDR/SDR conversion and ITU-R BT.2020/BT.709 conversion that remove the need for separate conversion boxes. Shot, event and macro memories speed live operation, while two MultiViewer outputs display up to 16 split sources. An integrated PTZ control function operates Panasonic 4K/HD integrated cameras directly from the switcher, pairing well with models such as the AW-UE160, AW-UE150A and AW-UE100. For larger IT/IP-based production cores, the catalog also carries the Panasonic KAIROS KC200 Core platform.

Key Features

  • 12G-SDI Standard — Carries 4K over a single coaxial cable for simpler cabling and setup.
  • 4K/3G/HD Multi-Format — Maintains HD input/output counts even when operating in 4K.
  • Five Keyers — Includes two chroma-key channels and two picture-in-picture channels for layered production.
  • Built-In Conversion — Up/down, HDR/SDR and BT.2020/BT.709 conversion without external boxes.
  • Integrated PTZ Control — Operates up to 16 Panasonic integrated cameras from the switcher.
  • Option-Board Expandability — Five optional boards add inputs and system flexibility for large events.
  • Production Memories — Shot, event and macro memories plus dual MultiViewer outputs streamline live shows.

Typical Applications

  • Broadcast studio and OB/live-truck switching
  • Auditorium and large event-staging productions
  • Training rooms and university lecture capture
  • Commercial meeting spaces and conference-hall AV
