The Panamax SP8-AV is an 8-outlet AV surge protector providing AC surge suppression alongside coaxial and telephone line signal protection on a 6-foot power cord. It is an entry-level Panamax unit suited for home theater systems that need reliable surge protection and signal line passthrough without power conditioning or AVM features.
Product Description
The SP8-AV provides eight AC outlets with spacing designed to accommodate bulky wall-wart adapters, all protected by Panamax's Protect or Disconnect circuitry at 1,125 joules and a 60,000-amp peak impulse current rating. An on/off power switch and 15-amp circuit breaker provide additional control and overcurrent protection. Coaxial F-connector input and output protect cable, satellite, or antenna lines across a 0 MHz to 2.2 GHz range with less than 0.5 dB insertion loss and a 75V clamping level. An RJ-11 telephone jack protects a single phone line pair at 260V. The 6-foot power cord includes a right-angle 45-degree offset plug for outlet-congested installations. Basic RFI/EMI filtration (45 dB at 100 kHz–1 MHz) is included. There is no AVM voltage monitoring or separate outlet bank isolation — distinguishing the SP8-AV from the M8-AV above it in the Panamax lineup.
