Product Overview
The Panamax MOD-SPKP is a modular signal protection module for MaxMOD-compatible base units, providing surge suppression for speaker lines, keypad control wiring, and CCTV power lines. It uses screw terminal connections for direct wire attachment and is rated for outdoor speaker installations as well as in-wall security and control wiring.
Product Description
The MOD-SPKP installs in the modular expansion bay of a compatible Panamax MaxMOD base unit and provides surge suppression on signal and low-voltage wiring that is not covered by coaxial or telephone protection modules. Speaker wiring, keypad lines, control bus wiring, and CCTV power conductors that run long distances or exit a building are all susceptible to induced transient voltages from lightning or other surge events. The MOD-SPKP uses screw wire terminals (12 AWG maximum) to connect directly to the wires without requiring any specific connector — eight wires (four pairs) can be terminated. It handles up to 225 watts per channel into 4-ohm loads (112 watts per channel into 8-ohm loads) and clamps at 47V to all terminals referenced to ground. The 7-amp per-wire rating is appropriate for typical distributed audio and CCTV power line applications. Available at Creation Networks.
