The M4-EX delivers Panamax's full Max-series power management feature set in a 4-outlet form factor. All four transformer-spaced outlets are filtered and surge-protected with 1,650 joules of single-pulse energy dissipation — the same rating as the M8-EX — and 52,000A peak impulse current handling at a 1-nanosecond response time. The Protect-or-Disconnect circuit monitors line voltage continuously, shutting off all outlets when voltage exceeds 144 VAC or drops below 90 VAC to prevent equipment damage from sustained voltage anomalies. Patented EMI/RFI noise filtration reduces high-frequency interference on the AC line, which can appear as picture noise or audio hum in connected AV equipment. Thermal fusing provides an additional layer of overload protection. The 8-foot captive power cord includes a low-profile flat plug that allows the unit to sit flush against walls or furniture without the cord adding visible bulk at the outlet. A front-panel power switch controls all four outlets simultaneously.
