The Panamax MD2-AV is a 2-outlet end-to-end surge protection kit designed for remote subwoofers and AV equipment located away from the main system. It provides AC surge protection at both the source and remote locations, and includes RCA signal line passthrough with EMI/RFI filtration — replacing the discontinued MD2-RCA.
Product Description
The MD2-AV kit addresses a specific installation challenge: protecting a subwoofer or secondary AV component that is physically separated from the main AV rack or equipment cluster. Each unit in the kit provides two filtered and surge-protected AC outlets that plug directly into a wall outlet, and the RCA signal line connectors (3 in, 3 out) pass audio signal between the source component and the remote device while applying EMI/RFI filtration with only 0.06 dB attenuation from 10 Hz to 6 MHz. AC protection uses Panamax's Protect or Disconnect circuitry, rated at 1,350 joules with a peak impulse current of 60,000 amps. Voltage protection meets UL 1449 3rd Edition at L-N 400V, L-G 500V, and N-G 400V. Thermal fusing and sub-nanosecond response time complete the protection profile. The direct plug-in form factor keeps installation clean without additional power strip hardware. Available at Creation Networks.
