Product Description
The XS505M brings 10G connectivity to small AV and editing setups without management overhead. Its four copper ports use 5-speed technology to auto-negotiate 100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10G, giving each connected device its full speed rather than downgrading sub-10G devices to 1G as standard 10G switches do. The ports accept regular Cat5e for 2.5G/5G and Cat6A for full 10G, reducing recabling costs. A single 10G SFP+ port adds a fiber or copper-module uplink to the network core or to a 10G-capable aggregation switch.
The 100Gbps line-rate fabric forwards traffic at wire speed with low latency, jumbo frame support up to 9K, and 802.1p QoS and DSCP honoring for prioritized traffic. There is nothing to configure: connect devices and the switch handles speed negotiation automatically. The metal case mounts on a 19-inch rack or sits on a desktop, and an active fan keeps it whisper-quiet.
