Product Description
The GS516 16-port Gigabit unmanaged switch is a straightforward way to expand wired capacity at the access layer. All 16 ports auto-negotiate 10/100/1000 Mbps and use Auto Uplink (Auto-MDI/MDIX), so straight-through and crossover cables both work without manual configuration. With 32 Gbps of switching bandwidth and an 8K MAC address table, it forwards traffic from AV-over-IP endpoints, workstations, and control devices at wire speed. There is nothing to set up; the switch begins working as soon as it is powered on.
The durable metal housing includes a Kensington lock slot for theft prevention and supports desktop, wall, or 19-inch rack mounting with the included kit. A fanless design keeps the switch silent for placement in conference rooms and other occupied spaces. Energy-saving features include 802.1p QoS for prioritizing voice and video, auto power-down on unused ports, and auto green mode that adjusts power based on cable length. As a non-PoE switch, the GS516 is best paired with separate PoE devices for powered endpoints, and it integrates cleanly with the rest of the NETGEAR switch collection. It is backed by a NETGEAR Limited Lifetime warranty.
