Product Overview
The Sharp NEC NP09ZL is a long-throw projector zoom lens with a 2.22-4.43:1 throw ratio, built for large-venue projector installation where the projector sits at the back of an auditorium, house of worship, or large lecture hall. Powered zoom and focus with vertical and horizontal lens shift give AV integrators precise image placement without physically repositioning the projector. As a replacement zoom lens for select NEC large-venue projectors, it covers screen sizes from 40 to 500 inches diagonal.
Product Description
The NP09ZL long zoom lens extends the installation flexibility of compatible NEC large-venue projectors, including the NP4001, NP4100, NP4100W, NP-PX700W, NP-PX700W2, NP-PX800X, and NP-PX800X2. Its 2.22-4.43:1 throw ratio and 2.0x zoom range place the projector far from the screen — ideal for rear-of-room projection booths in auditoriums, ballrooms, and broadcast studios where shorter-throw optics cannot reach. Powered zoom and powered focus allow the operator to fine-tune the image from the remote control or an integrated AV control system, a practical advantage when the projector is ceiling-mounted or rack-positioned out of reach. Vertical lens shift up to +0.5V and horizontal shift up to ±0.1H correct image placement off the mechanical axis, simplifying commercial projector installation when the mount cannot sit perfectly centered on the screen. At approximately 2.5 lbs (1.1 kg), the lens swaps quickly into the bayonet lens mount of compatible chassis, letting rental and staging companies or system integrators reconfigure the same projector body across venues of different depths. The lens supports image sizes from 40 inches up to 500 inches diagonal, covering everything from training room screens to large-format auditorium projection. For a shorter-throw option in the same projector ecosystem, see the Sharp NP41ZL 1.30-3.08:1 zoom lens.

Key Features
- 2.22-4.43:1 Long-Throw Ratio — Positions the projector deep in the room, suiting rear projection booths and long auditoriums.
- 2.0x Zoom Ratio — A wide zoom range lets one lens serve rooms of varying depth without changing optics.
- Powered Zoom and Focus — Motorized adjustment from the remote or control system eliminates ladder trips to a ceiling-mounted projector.
- Lens Shift — Vertical shift to +0.5V and horizontal shift to ±0.1H align the image precisely without keystone distortion.
- 40" to 500" Image Sizes — Scales from meeting room screens to large-venue projection surfaces.
- Broad Projector Compatibility — Fits NEC NP4001, NP4100, NP4100W, NP-PX700W/W2, and NP-PX800X/X2 large-venue projectors.
- Compact 2.5 lb Design — Light enough for fast lens swaps in rental, staging, and multi-venue deployments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which projectors is the NP09ZL compatible with?
The NP09ZL fits select NEC large-venue projectors including the NP4001, NP4100, NP4100W, NP-PX700W, NP-PX700W2, NP-PX800X, and NP-PX800X2. Confirm your exact chassis model before ordering; contact Creation Networks if you need compatibility verification.
How far from the screen can the projector sit with this lens?
With a 2.22-4.43:1 throw ratio, the projection distance is roughly 2.2 to 4.4 times the screen width. For a 16:9 screen about 200 inches wide, that places the projector approximately 37 to 74 feet back — well suited to projection booths at the rear of auditoriums.
Can I adjust zoom and focus from a control system?
Yes. Zoom and focus are motorized and driven by the projector, so adjustments can be made from the projector remote or through the projector's RS-232C/LAN control integration — no physical access to the lens is required after installation.
Does the lens shift eliminate the need for keystone correction?
In most installations, yes. The +0.5V vertical and ±0.1H horizontal optical shift repositions the image without the resolution loss of digital keystone correction, which is preferred in commercial AV installation practice.
Is this lens difficult to install?
No. The NP09ZL is a field-swappable bayonet-style replacement lens for compatible NEC projector bodies. Follow the projector's lens replacement procedure and run a lens calibration after installation.
What support is available after purchase?
