Product Overview
The Middle Atlantic WUSS20.5 is a wide unit shelf system, 20.5 inches deep, built for AV components that are too wide for standard rack shelves. While conventional rackshelves offer a 17-3/8 inch inside width, this wide unit rack shelf holds components up to 22-1/2 inches wide. The system bolts into millwork or to the mounting angle of standard rackrail and occupies three rackspaces (3RU). Steel construction with a durable powder coat finish makes it a long-term home for oversized equipment.
Product Description
Consumer receivers, oversized amplifiers, and certain broadcast components frequently exceed the inside width of a standard 19-inch rack shelf. The Middle Atlantic WUSS20.5 wide unit shelf system solves this fit problem without resorting to custom fabrication. Its shelf area accepts units up to 22-1/2 inches wide, and the 20.5-inch depth suits deeper-chassis components that shallower wide shelves cannot support. Installers can mount the system two ways: bolt it directly into millwork for furniture and credenza installations, or attach it to the mounting angles of standard rackrail in an equipment rack. The shelf occupies three rackspaces and ships complete with a pair of ears, a bottom panel, and assembly hardware. A fully vented bottom panel promotes passive airflow around heat-producing components such as AV receivers. Construction is steel with a durable powder coat finish, consistent with the rest of the Middle Atlantic rackmount shelf line. Note that this rackshelf works with all Middle Atlantic Products enclosures except those that use Z-Rail. For wide components with shallower chassis, the WUSS14 is the 14-inch-deep sibling in the same wide unit shelf family.
