The Middle Atlantic VPM-2 is a 2-space vertical panel mount rack for applications where a protective enclosure is not required. The VPM series accommodates all depths of equipment and installs either horizontally under a desk or table, or vertically as a wall mount rack. Heavy duty 10-32 threaded rackrail provides a standard mounting interface for rackmount gear and panels. Used in pairs, two VPM-2 frames provide 4-point mounting for added support.
Product Description
Not every piece of rack gear needs a full enclosure. Small switches, patch panels, power strips, and interface hardware often just need a sturdy pair of rackrails near the point of use—under a conference table, behind a display, or inside a credenza. The Middle Atlantic VPM-2 vertical panel mount rack provides exactly that: two rackspaces of heavy duty 10-32 threaded rackrail in an open frame. Because the frame is open, it can accommodate all depths of equipment with no rear clearance limitation. Orientation is flexible: mount it horizontally under a desk or table to tuck equipment out of sight, or mount it vertically on a wall to keep components flat against the surface. For under-desk installations, the VPM-2 includes a hole for a safety screw that secures mounted equipment. When deeper or heavier components need additional support, installers can use two VPM-2 units front and rear to create 4-point mounting. The 2-space VPM-2 is the compact entry in the series; the VPM-3 and VPM-4 provide three and four rackspaces for larger equipment stacks. It is a simple, low-cost way to put a standard 19-inch mounting interface anywhere the design calls for one.
