Product Overview
The Middle Atlantic VBK-S42 is a magnetized vent blocker kit for 42-depth WRK series rack enclosures. The kit prevents hot air from recirculating between top-mount fans and nearby vent openings on the upper front, sides, and rear door of the enclosure. Magnetized blockers attach and detach without tools, and each piece is pre-sized to fit without trimming.
Product Description
When top-mount exhaust fans are used in a rack enclosure, they create a pressure differential that pulls hot air upward through the rack. If the vent openings near the top of the enclosure are not blocked, a portion of the hot exhaust air can be pulled back into the rack through those vents rather than escaping fully, creating a hot air recirculation loop. This short-circuiting of the cooling airflow reduces fan effectiveness and can cause equipment to overheat. The VBK-S42 kit blocks the upper vent openings in a 42-inch-deep WRK series enclosure so that hot air can only exit through the top-mounted fans. The magnetized design allows the blockers to be positioned and removed quickly without tools, which is useful during installation when airflow paths need to be tested. Each piece in the kit is sized for immediate use without cutting or trimming. The kit includes pieces for the top vents and side panel vents of the WRK enclosure.
