Product Overview
The Middle Atlantic UMS1-3.5K is a 1-space universal mounting shelf kit with a shallow 3.5-inch depth, built to rack-mount Extron and other small AV devices that lack their own rack ears. The universal hole pattern accepts components in the front or rear of the rack, and the kit bundles four partial blank panels plus mounting hardware for a finished installation in a single part number.
Product Description
Small signal processors, scalers, and interface boxes rarely ship with rack mounting of their own, which leaves integrators improvising with shelves and zip ties. The UMS1-3.5K universal rack shelf kit from Middle Atlantic addresses this with a steel 1U shelf whose universal mounting pattern secures small items in either the front or the rear of the rack. Counter-sunk holes are positioned to match popular Extron devices, so half-rack and compact components bolt down directly to the shelf rather than resting loose. At only 3.5 inches deep, this version of the UMS kit is suited to the shallowest devices and tight rack layouts where rear clearance is at a premium. Steel construction with a black powder coat finish matches standard rack hardware. The kit includes four partial blank panels in 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 widths plus a 1/8-height panel to close out unused openings for a clean faceplate, along with mounting hardware. Middle Atlantic also supplies 3/16-inch-length flat head screws, sixteen #4 and four #6, for fastening components to the shelf surface.
