Product Overview
The Middle Atlantic U2 is a 2-space (2 RU) universal utility rack shelf for any standard 19 inch rack system. Built from 16-gauge steel with a black powder coat finish, it supports components up to 50 pounds, including non-rackable devices. The shelf accepts equipment up to 17.2 inches wide and is 14.75 inches deep. It is the solid-surface, single-unit model in the Middle Atlantic U Series utility rackshelf family.
Product Description
Not every device in an AV or IT rack comes with rack ears, and the U2 universal rack shelf solves that by giving non-rackable components a proper 2-space mounting platform. Media players, small switches, modems, power supplies, and similar gear simply sit on the shelf, keeping the rack organized without custom brackets. Because it follows the standard 19 inch rack format, the U2 works in any rack system, from wall cabinets to full-height floor enclosures.
Construction is 16-gauge steel rated for components up to 50 pounds, and the black powder coat finish resists rust and scratching through years of service. The shelf surface accommodates equipment up to 17.2 inches wide at a depth of 14.75 inches, which covers most half-rack and consumer-format devices.
