The Middle Atlantic SPM-4 sideways panel mount lets installers rack hubs, switches, and other network components flat against the wall in a low-profile 4-space (4U) footprint. Part of Middle Atlantic's Versa-Rack family of low-profile wall racks, the all-steel SPM-4 also works under tables and desks in commercial and classroom installations. An included steel cover conceals and protects the mounted equipment.

Not every equipment closet has room for a full wall rack, and many small network installs only need a few rack spaces near the point of use. The SPM-4 low profile wall rack answers that need by turning a sideways orientation into usable rack mounting: equipment mounts parallel to the wall, keeping total projection minimal while preserving standard 19-inch rail compatibility. Each unit features a single pair of heavy-gauge, 10-32 threaded rackrail that can be positioned in three locations within the frame, leaving room for D-Ring cable managers alongside the mounted gear. At the rear of the frame, abundant cable lacing points let technicians dress and strain-relieve network cabling cleanly behind the equipment. The included steel cover protects connections from accidental contact and tampering while concealing the install in finished spaces such as classrooms, conference rooms, and retail backrooms. Versa-Racks can also be inverted for under-table and under-desk equipment mounting, a common approach for huddle room switches and AV-over-IP endpoints.
