It controls airflow at the front of wider rack enclosures while providing zero-U mounting locations for patch panels and other connectivity devices. Steel construction with a black powder coat finish matches the SNE rack platform.
Product Description
Wider network enclosures such as the 27-inch SNE Series leave open space on either side of the standard 19-inch rails, and that space matters in two ways: uncontrolled air can bypass equipment intakes, and the extra width is an opportunity for zero-U mounting. The Middle Atlantic SNE27-FAD-PM-42 front air dam and panel mount addresses both. As an air dam, it closes off the front side areas of the rack so airflow is directed through equipment rather than around it, supporting the thermal design of dense network and AV head-end builds. As a zero-U panel mount, it includes knockouts for mounting standard patch panels and connectivity devices vertically along the side of the rack, recovering rack spaces that would otherwise be consumed by horizontal patching. That combination saves rack units for revenue equipment, simplifies cable management at the front of the enclosure, and keeps the cooling path predictable. This version fits 42-space SNE27 racks and ships as a pair to cover both sides of the enclosure.
