Product Overview
The Middle Atlantic SL-3 is a 3-space plexi security cover that mounts over rack-mounted equipment to prevent tampering while still allowing visual monitoring through its permanent plexiglass window. At 1 inch deep, the cover provides a physical barrier over three rack units of equipment in AV racks installed in public or semi-public environments such as classrooms, conference rooms, and lobbies. For enhanced security, the SL-3 can be used in combination with Middle Atlantic security rack screws.
Product Description
Rack-mounted equipment in accessible locations is susceptible to button presses, input changes, cable disconnection, and control adjustments by non-technical users. The SL-3 security cover eliminates this vulnerability by enclosing three rack spaces of equipment behind a 1-inch deep cover with a plexiglass window. The plexiglass window allows the AV system operator or facility staff to see equipment status indicators, power LEDs, and display readouts without removing the cover, which is important for monitoring system operation without unlocking the rack. The cover mounts using standard rack hardware and can be further secured with Middle Atlantic's Guardian Series security rack screws for maximum tamper resistance. The SL series is available in 1, 2, and 3-space sizes to cover different equipment configurations. This cost-effective security solution is commonly used on amplifiers, signal processors, and control equipment in education, hospitality, and commercial AV installations.
