The Middle Atlantic SH-5A is a 4 point rackshelf purpose designed to fit 20-inch deep Slim 5 and AXS equipment racks. Full-depth front and rear rackmounting makes it a sturdy, high-capacity shelf for non-rackmount components. Unlike generic shelves, it mounts to the sides of the rackrail rather than the threaded face, maximizing usable shelf area. Constructed from 16-gauge steel with a durable black powder coat finish, it ships with mounting hardware and two positioning brackets.
Product Description
Slim 5 and AXS racks are workhorses in residential AV closets and commercial equipment rooms, and most installations include at least a few components without rack ears—streaming devices, modems, small switches, and source gear. The Middle Atlantic SH-5A 4 point rackshelf gives those devices a secure home inside the rack. Its full-depth front and rear rackmounting supports the shelf at four points, producing a noticeably sturdier platform than two-point shelves that cantilever off the front rail. Because the SH-5A mounts to the sides of the rackrail instead of the threaded face, the entire shelf width remains available for equipment, and the rail face stays free for rackmount gear above and below. Two handy L brackets are included to help position and retain components on the shelf. Construction is 16-gauge steel finished in durable black powder coat, and mounting hardware comes in the box. Note the fit requirement: the SH-5A only fits 20-inch deep AXS and Slim 5 racks. For 26-inch deep AXS racks, specify the SH-5A-26 instead, and for other Middle Atlantic rack families the SH Series includes matched models such as the SH-SRSR and SH-WR.
