Product Overview
The Middle Atlantic RSH4S5XX is a 5-space custom rackshelf from the RSH Rackshelf with Textured Face Plate series, built with a 20.5" deep shelf and a textured black powder-coat steel face plate. It allows virtually any non-rackmount component to be installed in a standard 19" rack or enclosure with no modification to the rack itself. Middle Atlantic custom-cuts the face plate opening to match the specific component you are mounting.
Product Description
Consumer and prosumer AV gear — Blu-ray players, media servers, cable boxes, audio processors — rarely ships with rack ears, which leaves integrators improvising with generic shelves and open gaps in the rack elevation. The RSH4S5XX takes a different approach: the component rests on a supporting shelf while a factory custom-cut face plate surrounds its front panel, so the finished installation looks like native rackmount equipment. Specify the component when ordering and the cutout is made to fit.
At 5 rack units (8.75" tall) with a 20.5" shelf depth — the XX depth code, the deepest in the series — this model handles tall, full-depth chassis that the shallower 11.5" and 17.5" versions cannot. The textured black powder-coat finish coordinates with standard Middle Atlantic racks, blanks, and vent panels; a wide-format variant (RSH4S5XXW) is available for components with broader front panels, and an anodized-finish equivalent exists in the RSH4A line.
