The face plate is custom-cut at the factory to fit the exact piece of equipment you specify, so non-rackmount components install in a standard 19" rack or enclosure with a snug fit and no gaps. A ventilated shelf bottom maintains airflow, and included rear brackets keep the mounted component from sliding rearward.

When a project calls for racking a source component, processor, or other device that was never designed for a 19" rack, the RSH4S5XW provides a factory-engineered answer instead of an improvised one. You specify the component, and Middle Atlantic cuts the face plate to match its front panel using a measurement database covering more than 8,000 component listings. The result is a trimmed, gap-free installation that looks like native rackmount hardware.

This wide-format model spans 5 rack spaces (8.75" of vertical height) and carries a 17.5" deep shelf — the X depth code — appropriate for mid-depth chassis that do not need the full 20.5" XX version. The ventilated bottom promotes convection cooling under heat-producing gear, while the included rear brackets secure the component against movement once installed. The textured black powder-coat steel finish matches Middle Atlantic racks and filler panels; for anodized-finish racks, the equivalent RSH4A wide models are available in the Middle Atlantic collection. No rack modification is required for installation.
