The Middle Atlantic RSH4S5X is a standard-width 5U custom rackshelf with a 17.5" shelf depth and a textured black powder-coat steel face plate. Like every model in the RSH Rackshelf with Textured Face Plate series, its face is custom-cut at the factory to fit the specific component you name, allowing non-rackmount devices to mount in a standard 19" rack without modification. A ventilated bottom keeps air moving, and included rear brackets retain the component in place.

Product Description

Generic rack shelves leave a visible gap between the shelf and the panel above it, exposing cabling and collecting dust. The RSH4S5X closes that gap: Middle Atlantic cuts the face plate opening to match the front panel of your specified device, drawing on a measurement database of more than 8,000 component listings. The mounted equipment ends up framed by a snug, neatly trimmed cutout that reads as purpose-built rackmount hardware.

This model occupies 5 rack units (8.75" of height) and provides a 17.5" deep shelf — the X depth code — a practical middle ground between the compact 11.5" S version and the full-depth 20.5" XX version. The ventilated shelf bottom ensures adequate cooling for the component above it, and the included rear brackets stop the device from sliding out the back of the enclosure. The textured black powder coat coordinates with standard Middle Atlantic racks and filler panels. Components with wider front panels can use the RSH4S5XW wide variant, and additional sizes are stocked in the Middle Atlantic collection at Creation Networks.
