The Middle Atlantic RSH4S4X custom 4U rackshelf lets integrators mount virtually any non-rackmount component in a standard 19-inch rack or enclosure without modifying the equipment. Each unit ships with a steel face plate custom-cut to the front-panel profile of the component you specify, finished in textured black powder coat. The 17.5-inch shelf depth fits the majority of consumer and commercial AV chassis, making this the workhorse depth in the RSH4S series. Every rack build eventually meets a component with no rack ears — a streaming player, a consumer Blu-ray deck, a control processor, or legacy gear the client refuses to retire. Rather than parking it on a generic vented shelf with an open gap above, the RSH4S4X gives that component a purpose-built home: Middle Atlantic cuts the 4-space (7-inch) textured face plate to the exact dimensions of the equipment's front panel, so the finished rack reads as one cohesive system. The 17.5-inch platform supports the component's full weight from below, keeping mounting stress off the chassis and front panel. Within the RSH4S family, this X-depth model sits between the 11.5-inch S and 14-inch M shelves and the 20.5-inch XX version, so you can match shelf depth to the component and the rack's interior clearance. The textured powder-coat finish is intended for racks trimmed with Middle Atlantic textured panels; the anodized RSH4A series covers brushed-finish builds. Because the face plate is cut per order, provide the make and model of the equipment to be mounted at the time of purchase. Installation uses standard EIA 19-inch rack screws — no drilling, cutting, or custom fabrication on site.
