The textured black powder-coat steel face plate is factory-cut to the front panel of the component you specify, so nothing about the equipment itself has to change. Shallow racks — wall cabinets, credenza enclosures, and space-constrained equipment closets — cannot accept deep shelving, yet they still need to house odd-sized gear. The RSH4S4SW addresses exactly that scenario: an 11.5-inch deep platform that clears shallow enclosures while its wide-format face plate accepts broad-chassis components that a standard-width custom shelf cannot frame. As with every RSH4S rackshelf, you supply the make and model of the component at order time and Middle Atlantic cuts the 4-space (7-inch) face plate to those front-panel dimensions, producing a flush, gap-free fit. The component's weight is carried by the shelf surface, not by screws through a plastic consumer faceplate, which matters for service life and for gear that gets pulled during maintenance. The textured black powder coat is the cosmetic match for Middle Atlantic textured rack fronts; builders working with brushed aluminum panels should look to the anodized RSH4A line instead. Mounting follows standard EIA 19-inch rail spacing, so installation in residential AV cabinets, conference room credenzas, and retrofit wall racks requires no fabrication.
