The Middle Atlantic RSH4S4R is a 4U rack shelf with a custom-cut steel faceplate that lets you install non-rackmount equipment in a standard 19" rack with a clean, finished look. The faceplate wears Middle Atlantic's textured black powder coat and is cut at the factory to match the exact component you specify. With a 15.5" shelf depth, it handles mid-depth sources, processors, and media players while preserving rear cable clearance inside the rack.

Product Description

Cable boxes, media players, audio processors, and control hardware rarely ship with rack ears, and parking them loose on a vented shelf leaves open gaps across the rack face. The RSH4S4R takes a different approach: Middle Atlantic custom cuts the 4U faceplate opening to the chassis of the device you name at order time, drawing on a measurement database of more than 8,000 components.

The result is a neatly trimmed rack shelf installation with a snug fit and no gaps around the mounted device. The standard-width faceplate suits the majority of consumer and commercial AV components; if your chassis is wider than the standard cutout allows, step up to the wide-format RSH4S4RW instead.

A ventilated shelf bottom moves air around the mounted component to support passive cooling, and the included rear brackets keep the device from sliding out the back of the enclosure. The 15.5" depth (Middle Atlantic's R depth code) fits this rack shelf for non-rackmount equipment between the shallower 14" M version and the deeper X and XX models in the RSH4S line.
