Not every McIntosh system lives in a full-depth equipment rack. Media closets, built-in cabinetry, and reduced-depth wall-mount enclosures often leave installers with 16 to 18 inches of usable interior depth — too tight for the deeper shelves in the RSH series. The RSH4A5R-MC addresses exactly that situation with a 15.5-inch platform that carries compact and standard McIntosh chassis while keeping the overall assembly short enough for space-constrained installations.

The shelf works the way the rest of the custom RSH line does: the McIntosh component rests on the platform, and the custom-cut anodized face plate closes the rack opening around its front panel. The brushed black anodized finish presents the kind of fit and finish a McIntosh owner expects, turning a shelf-bound component into what looks like dedicated rackmount hardware. Nothing attaches to the component — no drilling, no adhesive, no rack ears — so the unit slides out for service or trade-in exactly as it arrived.
