The RSH4A3XW solves it with a custom rackmount shelf that occupies three rack spaces (3U) in any standard 19" rack or enclosure. The model code spells out the configuration — 3 for the rack-unit height, X for the 17.5" shelf depth, and W for the wide format that accommodates broader chassis than the standard-width version. The 17.5" depth is the deepest standard option in the 3U group, giving full-size consumer and pro AV components room to sit completely on the shelf with support under the entire footprint. Because the anodized face plate is cut specifically for the equipment going into it, the finished installation looks like a purpose-built rackmount product rather than a shelf with a loose component behind it. The black brushed and anodized finish matches Middle Atlantic racks and blends with surrounding faceplates and blank panels.
