Product Overview
Middle Atlantic RC Series clamping rackshelves hold non-rackmountable components securely in any standard 19-inch rack. Rubber-lined clamps grip each component from the top, while adjustable rear L brackets keep units from being pushed back during cable connections. The 16-gauge steel shelves have vented bottoms and are available in 2 RU (RC-2), 3 RU (RC-3), and 4 RU (RC-4) heights, each offering a usable shelf area of 17.38 inches wide by 15.10 inches deep.
Product Description
Small-format gear such as media players, modems, satellite receivers, and half-rack processors rarely comes with rack ears, and loose components on a plain shelf shift every time a cable is plugged in. The RC Series solves both problems. Each shelf includes rubber-lined clamps that tighten down over the top of a component, holding it firmly without marring the chassis. Adjustable rear L brackets back up the clamps, preventing units from sliding rearward when connectors are pressed in. The vented bottom promotes airflow around installed equipment, helping convection cooling do its work in packed enclosures. Built from 16-gauge steel with a knockdown design per the manufacturer, the RC Series maintains structural integrity even in mobile and transport applications where vibration works loose lesser shelves. A durable black powder coat finish matches Middle Atlantic racks and panels. Choose the 2-space RC-2 for low-profile components, the 3-space RC-3 for mid-height gear, or the 4-space RC-4 for taller equipment; all three share the same usable shelf area of 17.38 x 15.10 inches. For larger clamping shelves, Middle Atlantic also offers the CAP Series in 7 and 8 RU heights.
