Product Overview

The Middle Atlantic OCAP-2 is a 2-space open clamping rack mount designed for cable and satellite boxes, streaming devices, and other consumer or commercial AV components that do not have standard rack ears. The adjustable rubber-lined clamping bars on the top and bottom of the unit secure a wide range of non-rack equipment shapes and sizes in a standard 19-inch equipment rack, while the open design provides superior airflow for heat-generating components. Constructed from 16-gauge steel with a black powder coat finish.

Product Description

Many AV components used in residential and light commercial installations are designed as consumer products without rack mounting ears — including cable boxes, satellite receivers, streaming devices, gaming consoles, and small media players. The OCAP-2 provides a practical way to integrate these components into a standard equipment rack using adjustable clamping bars that grip the top and bottom of the component chassis. The rubber lining on the clamping bars prevents scratching and protects component housings during installation and service. The open design of the mount leaves the sides and front of the mounted component exposed to rack airflow, which is particularly important for cable and satellite boxes that generate substantial heat during operation. At 2 rack spaces, the OCAP-2 accommodates standard set-top box heights. The adjustable clamping bars can accommodate a range of component depths and widths within the 2U footprint, eliminating the need for a different mount for each device type.
