The MS-11 multi-shelf from Middle Atlantic Products is a 0.5-inch high (half rack space), 11-inch deep shelf that uses the 1U rackrail mounting positions to provide a low-profile mounting surface for small devices or cable management tie-down points. The versatile hole and slot pattern accommodates nearly any device mounting hole pattern, making it useful for securing a wide range of small AV components such as small signal processors, conversion devices, or wireless receivers that do not have standard rack ears. The shelf also serves as a cable management aid, providing abundant tie-down points where cables can be secured inside the rack rather than left unsupported. The MS-11 is surprisingly strong for its size given the 0.5-inch profile. Installation requires standard 10-32 or 5mm rack screws into a threaded rackrail; it is not compatible with cage nut rails without adapter hardware. The 11-inch depth provides sufficient support for most small devices while keeping the shelf profile shallow within the rack.
