The Middle Atlantic MAFAN is a 4-1/2 inch rack fan that moves 95 CFM of air at just 39 dBA, providing quiet thermal management for equipment racks and AV enclosures. A smooth ball-bearing design keeps operation quiet over the life of the fan. The unit runs on 115V input power, mounts flush, and ships with mounting hardware and a power cord. Fan guards are not included and can be added separately.
Product Description
Heat buildup shortens the life of amplifiers, network equipment, and source components, and the MAFAN gives integrators a simple, dependable way to keep air moving through a rack. This 4-1/2 inch fan is rated at 95 CFM, enough airflow to ventilate a loaded equipment enclosure, while its 39 dBA noise rating keeps it unobtrusive in residential systems, conference rooms, and other noise-sensitive spaces. The smooth ball-bearing motor design is the key to that quiet operation, reducing vibration and wear compared to sleeve-bearing alternatives. The fan mounts flush, and each unit includes the mounting hardware and power cord needed for installation, so it can be wired and running without sourcing extra parts. Input voltage is 115V, making the MAFAN the standard-voltage choice for North American installations; for 220V projects, see the Middle Atlantic FAN-119, and for lower-airflow needs the QFAN offers 50 CFM at 30 dBA. Note that fan guards are not included with the MAFAN. Use it in rack tops, fan panels, or enclosure ventilation cutouts wherever supplemental airflow is needed.
