The KDE3S short rack ears from Middle Atlantic Products are the 3-rack-space, short-depth variant in the KD Series ear family, sold in pairs. The S designation indicates these are short ears compatible only with the KDB-14 base rather than the standard 15-1/2-inch depth shelf base. Installers must confirm the correct base model when specifying KD Series shelves, as the standard KDE3 ears (15-1/2-inch depth) and the KDE3S short ears (KDB-14 base only) produce shelves with different depths and are not interchangeable. The fully vented construction promotes airflow and accepts optional clamping bars for securing components. All assembly hardware is included. The KD Series ready-to-assemble design reduces shipping dimensions and freight cost. The KDE3S is selected when a 3-rack-space assembly height with the short base depth is required.
