The gland design allows cables to pass through and seals around them, keeping dust out while remaining easily opened for routing additional cables.
Product Description
The GK-3G Gland Grommet Kit from Middle Atlantic Products provides four 3-inch round gland grommets for use at 3-inch knockout openings in compatible Middle Atlantic rack enclosures. When cables must pass through rack side or top panel knockout openings, bare metal edges can abrade cable jackets and open holes allow uncontrolled dust entry. The GK-3G gland grommets address both concerns by providing a flexible grommet insert that seals around cable bundles passing through the opening while protecting the cable jackets from the metal edges of the knockout. The gland design allows the grommet to be opened for routing cables and to conform around cable bundles of varying diameters without requiring replacement. Each pack contains 4 grommets, providing coverage for multiple knockout positions across a rack installation. Integrators working with Middle Atlantic racks that include 3-inch knockout openings should specify the GK-3G as the appropriate grommet for those positions. The GK-3G is the 3-inch complement to the GK-4G (4-inch) gland grommet kit, covering smaller knockout openings in the Middle Atlantic product line.
