Where more airflow is needed, two fan tops can be combined on one rack for up to 276 CFM.
Product Description
Heat is the most common cause of intermittent failures in residential and light commercial AV racks, and a top-mounted exhaust fan is the most direct way to remove it. The FANTOP-138DC rack fan top is purpose-designed for Middle Atlantic Essex Collection enclosures, attaching to the top of any QAR or MMR Series rack. Its two DC fans pull warm air up and out of the enclosure at 138 CFM while holding noise to 32 dBA, quiet enough for racks installed in living spaces, conference rooms, and offices where fan noise would be noticed. DC fan technology also keeps energy consumption low for systems that run around the clock. Installation matches the rest of the Essex platform's quick-integration approach: slide the fan top into position and tighten, with no cutting or field fabrication. Racks with heavier thermal loads can carry two fan tops for a combined 276 CFM of exhaust capacity. For temperature-based operation, the fan top can be paired with Middle Atlantic's Thermostatic Fan Control option so the fans run only when the rack needs cooling.
