The Middle Atlantic ERK-Z4 is a set of four seismic floor anchor brackets designed to bring compatible ERK Series enclosures to Zone 4 / SDC D / Seismic Use Group III Upper Floor Essential Equipment seismic certification with an Ip rating of 1.5. When properly installed, these brackets meet the applicable seismic rating requirements for mission-critical applications in high-seismic zones. One set of four brackets is required per rack.
Product Description
The ERK-Z4 seismic bracket kit from Middle Atlantic Products provides the floor anchoring hardware required to certify compatible ERK Series rack enclosures to seismic Zone 4 and Seismic Design Category D standards. Seismic certification is required for AV and IT rack installations in buildings subject to seismic codes in high-seismic-activity regions, and for mission-critical facilities such as hospitals, emergency operations centers, and government facilities that must maintain operation during and after a seismic event. The Ip 1.5 rating indicates the equipment is rated for essential facilities, the highest category in seismic performance classification. The ERK-Z4 brackets must be used with a seismic-certified ERK Series enclosure; the brackets alone do not confer seismic certification without the rated enclosure. The kit includes four brackets, which is one complete set for one rack installation. This product is the ERK Series equivalent of the seismic bracket kits available for WMRK-Z4, WRK-Z4, and MRK-Z4 rack series.
