Product Overview
The Middle Atlantic ERK-DT is a duct top adapter that lets a Duct-Cool unit mount to the top of select Middle Atlantic racks and pull exhaust air directly from the enclosure. It fits WMRK, ERK and ERK-KD racks of 35 spaces and higher, and SCRK racks. Built from steel with a black finish, the ERK-DT includes the top and adapter only; the Duct-Cool unit is sold separately.
Product Description
Active rack ventilation works best when heated air is drawn straight from the enclosure rather than from the surrounding room, and the ERK-DT makes that connection possible. This adapter top replaces or fits the top of select Middle Atlantic racks so a Duct-Cool unit can mount directly above the enclosure, pulling hot air out of the rack and ducting it away from the equipment space. Direct extraction is particularly valuable in closed equipment closets, head-end rooms, and dedicated AV racks where heat from amplifiers, servers, and power systems would otherwise recirculate. Compatibility covers a broad set of Middle Atlantic floor and wall rack families: WMRK enclosures, ERK and ERK-KD racks in 35-space and taller configurations, and SCRK racks. Steel construction with a black finish matches the host rack and stands up to mechanical-space conditions. Note that the ERK-DT consists of the duct top and adapter only, so plan to pair it with a Duct-Cool unit to complete the exhaust system. While ERK fan tops such as the ERK-4QFT-FC move air through the rack top with onboard fans, the ERK-DT instead provides the transition for ducted extraction with a Duct-Cool.
