The Middle Atlantic DWR-FK is a fan kit that adds active cooling to DWR Series sectional wall racks. Each kit includes two 4-1/2 inch fans, four fan guards, and the vent blockers needed to optimize airflow through the enclosure. The fans mount in knockouts provided on the rack, so installation requires no field fabrication. Four versions are available to match DWR rack depths from 17 to 32 inches.
Product Description
Wall-mounted equipment racks concentrate heat in a confined enclosure, and passive venting alone often cannot keep amplifiers, network switches, and processors within their operating temperature range. The Middle Atlantic DWR-FK fan kit converts a passive DWR rack into an actively cooled enclosure using two 4-1/2 inch fans that mount directly in the rack's provided knockouts. Four fan guards protect both sides of each fan, and the included vent blockers let the installer close off unused openings so air moves through the equipment rather than short-circuiting around it. Directed airflow of this kind is a basic requirement in commercial AV integration, where wall racks in conference rooms, classrooms, and retail spaces frequently run loaded with heat-producing electronics. Because the kit uses factory knockouts, thermal management can be added at initial installation or retrofitted later as equipment loads grow.
