The Middle Atlantic 5WR is a set of four fine-floor casters that bolt to the bottom of all ERK and Slim 5 Series rack systems. The wheels are constructed from synthetic rubber to protect hardwood, tile, and other fine flooring, and the set carries a 700 lb weight capacity. The kit adds 3-7/8 inches to overall cabinet height and uses a non-locking caster style.
Product Description
Equipment racks installed in homes, studios, and finished commercial spaces often need to roll, for service access behind the rack, for cable dressing, or simply for cleaning, and standard hard casters can mark the floors they roll across. The 5WR caster kit addresses this with synthetic rubber wheels designed specifically to protect fine flooring while still moving a fully loaded enclosure. Rated at 700 lb for the set, the four casters handle Slim 5 and ERK Series racks packed with amplifiers, power conditioning, and source gear. Installation is a direct bolt-on to the bottom of the rack, and the casters can alternatively fit within a skirted base for installations where the wheels should stay hidden. Plan for the added height: the kit raises overall cabinet height by 3-7/8 inches, which matters when a rack slides under a counter or into a millwork opening. The 5WR uses non-locking casters, the right choice when the rack rolls frequently or sits in a location where wheel brakes are unnecessary. If the installation calls for the same floor-protecting wheels with brakes, specify the 5WLR locking fine-floor caster kit instead.
